Calici di Stelle: featuring events and quality tastings in Italian piazzas on the night of San Lorenzo
Calici di stelle: the raining of San Lorenzo's tears in the company of quality wine
Calici di Stelle”, the traditional summer engagement conceived by the Wine Tourism Movement, returns again this year. The event sings the praise of Bacchus on one of the most evocative nights of the year and offers tourists the possibility to delight in “the raining of San Lorenzo’s tears” in the company of quality wine.

On August 10th, in the historical centres and piazzas of Italy, among courtyards of unexpected beauty and castles, passionate wine tourists can taste the best wines from the associated wineries coupled with typical quality products that express the local heritage of every region that participates in the event.

The falling stars strengthen the relationship between wine and art, also complimenting the tastings lead masterfully by experienced sommeliers and famous Italian oenologists. An ample series of events is pleasantly enriched with jazz and classical music concerts, historical parades, theatrical performances, and fireworks. All events are frequented by Italian and foreign tourists who have chosen a new concept of summer vacation to discover cities of art.

Some wine producers also open their wineries during this midsummer event to professionally welcome the members of the Wine Tourism Club.
This initiative is supported by the collaboration and participation of the National Association of Wine Cities.
